b & b Francesco Redi informs that Patty Smith, singer and poet, born in Chicago in 1946, who starred in a famous song by Bruce Springsteen “Because the Night” and very popular composer of songs by rock, is out today with the new album, the eleventh , entitled “Banga”. “Banga” contains pieces of different inspirations. Amerigo Vespucci relates the experience of the discovery of America and Banga and Seneca were written during a trip to the Costa Concordia, obviously before the tragedy. The meeting between Patti Smith and the House of the Wind took place during an edition of Arezzo Play Festival and the composition of the piece inspired by the dream of Constantine took place just before the concert. Ma tra i pezzi contenuti nel nuovo album il un pezzo, Costantine’s dream, è ispirato proprio al Sogno di Costantino al quale Piero della Francesca fa riferimento per dipingere il ciclo degli affreschi contenuti nella Cappella Bacci che si trova all’interno della Basilica di San Francesco di Arezzo. Tra l’altro il legame tra Patty Smith e la nostra città, Arezzo, si consolida anche grazie alla partecipazione  di una Band aretina, la Casa del Vento, alla realizzazione di “Seneca” e Costantine’s dream. “Seneca” è una ballata composta e registrata insieme ai “Casa del vento” al Teatro Pietro Aretino di via Bicchieraia. La band aretina un anno fa aveva già collaborato con Patti in occasione del progetto Seeds in the wind, progetto discografico realizzato per sostenere la causa di Emergency.

Patti Smith e Casa del Vento suoneranno ancora insieme il prossimo 26 luglio a Montevarchi (Ar): in mattinata, in occasione del Festival Orienteoccidente, Patti terrà un reading ispirato al celebre affresco di Piero della Francesca esposto nella basilica di San Francesco ad Arezzo; mentre la sera ci sarà il concerto in Piazza Varchi.

L’incontro tra Patti Smith e i Casa del Vento è avvenuta ad Arezzo durante una edizione del Play Festival e la composizione del pezzo ispirato al Sogno di Costantino è avvenuta proprio prima del concerto. Arezzo può vantare l’unicità della presenza del capolavoro di Piero della francesca, capolavoro che è stato proposto come “luogo unesco” patrimonio dell’umanità, e attraverso patti smith la nostra città ed il pittore che maggiormente la caratterizza potranno godere di un ritorno d’immagine senza precedenti.
